MDNA SKIN – User Acquisition for a Major Cosmetics Brand
Goal:Get new users to book a first-hand experience of the Madonna-produced skin care products line.
Strategy:We used targeted ads on social media to reach only people who were most likely to resonate with the brand, with localized ads and landing pages that make you want to book an in-store experience.
Results:Reservations for in-store try-ons more than doubled during this very cost-efficient campaign.

France Passion – Reliable User Acquisition for a Small Business
Goal:Giving France Passion, a language school which had been relying on word-of-mouth only, a more stable and actionable student acquisition channel.
Strategy:We created a set of targeted Google Ads to get relevant audiences to a landing page highlighting the appeal of France Passion’s methods and lesson plans. On that page we also implemented a user friendly trial lesson booking system, intuitive both for prospective students and for the non-tech-savvy school staff.
Results:The small business now has a constant flow of new students, with the ability to scale in proportion to its budget.

Refa 10th: Making a New Impression on a Grand Occasion
Goal:Use the world-acclaimed beauty brand ReFa’s 10-year anniversary as an opportunity for the brand to be known and remembered by new and dormant users.
Strategy:Building upon the existing brand with a slightly more playful twist, we launched a new participative social media campaign.
Results:With a number of Instagram Likes and user-generated posts both double the initial engagement target, ReFa truly got to celebrate its brand anniversary with fans old and new alike.

Lingueo – New Look for an E-Learning Pioneer
Goal:Refreshing Lingueo’s Brand Identity to help them stay on top of the highly-competitive Language E-Learning market.
Strategy: We created a more approachable brand identity through a fresher palette, illustration style and wording, and implemented it in newly redesigned landing pages, video ads and logo.
Results:User feedback showed a much better understanding and appreciation of Lingueo’s service after the rebranding.

Translation & Localization

Language is a marvelous thing, albeit a tricky one. As a French creative who lived in Japan for years, I’ve seen my fair share of grotesque English or French translations ruining the overall impression of the product they were supposed to embellish. And let’s not even mention the comically awkward faux-pas some businesses make when tackling Japanese language. You should put the same care in translation and localization as you put in your brand’s wording in its original language. With the highest certifications for both Japanese (JLPT N1) and English (Full 990 TOEIC score) and being a native French speaker with years of experience writing and translating in those three languages, I think I can help you with that.

Who is Antoine Boulay?

I graduated from the Léonard de Vinci University in Paris with master degrees in Multimedia Project Management and Entrepreneurship. I then set up my own business working as a Creative Communication Consultant for clients all around the world.
I see design not as an end, but as a tool to reach one’s goals and connect people – and I intend to keep building upon my creative and strategic skills.
Fascinated with Japan, I moved from Paris to Nagoya in 2015, and lived there for seven years during which I got to work as a creative consultant for both French and Japanese businesses. While in Japan, I also got to hone my skills by joining the leading Brand Development company MTG’s Marketing division. I am now back in Paris, working with teams from around the globe.
On a less work-related subject, my hobbies are cooking, traveling and playing games. I’d say Nagoya’s cuisine is the best in Japan, with Hokkaido’s as a close second (did you know it’s surprisingly close to Northern French cuisine?).
Travel-wise, I’ve visited 20 countries so far, and many more to come.
Regarding games, I don’t mean to show off, but I am quite proud of the fact I’ve managed to become the first French person representing Japan at the Pokémon TCG Worlds Championships.
